Is rolling out Update
Quote:
Hi we've started pushing the R36 firmware out to users in the Cosham area today, as well as to size: M and S customers around the country. We will monitoring the impact of this deployment closely before we expand it further.

Thanks

Does that imply that size M and S customers are of little consequence due to the revenue obtained on those tiers?

Anyway, I thought the update was Pulled by a modem reset rather than Pushed to it?

Re: R36 Firmware Beta Test (was R35)

No size M and S customers are probably the lightest users and therefore least likely to notice any problems or complain about them.

Modem resets are pushed to the modem.

Or are the least likely to be running in modem mode, so are more likely to notice the changes

Re: R36 Firmware Beta Test (was R35)

I have sat idly by and read umpteen different threads on the Superhub since getting mine just over 10 days ago. Disappointed does not begin to cover it really.

Once upon a time you got something from Telewest, it worked 100%, no messing about and usually beyond expectation, as my old modem was going on the fritz and I was due a contract change I thought I would renegotiate for a TiVo as well as get my networking brought into this generation. As a result I got lumbered with a gnats hair of cable, leaving my superhub able to only go in a single position and the removal of my old Dlink router which would have come in quite handy.

What gets me is that I am on my second superhub and it has only been 10 days, surely by rolling out bad hardware, bad firmware and an inability to fix it quickly VM have created not only a huge negative view on their service as a whole, but surely a ton of extra work for CSR's and Tech Support that was not really needed.

Fingers crossed that R36 allows me to use my wifi in the room above or below my router (a few feet and wooden floor) without dropping out or such a low signal that my mobile network is faster and more reliable...

On a related note, have any of you managed to setup a wireless repeater using the superhub and another router (DD-WRT perhaps?) I have been trying for a while and cannot get an external net connection

I have had mine about 10 days too and it's terrible!! My biggest problem has been with SSH and FTP session timing out in the most ungraceful way. Leaving the connected application hung for several minutes.

What I've done (like many others) is put it in modem mode and got my old router out!!

Just waiting on R36 to roll.....

Even with r36 I had issues so bought the Linksys E4200 and my speeds are better than ever!

Re: R36 Firmware Beta Test (was R35)

I was looking at the E4200 as it happens, for now I am just trying to figure which hardware is likely to offer the greatest, most powerful range. All I want is to be able to get my signal at the opposite side of my house and upstairs.

I have the RT-N66U, its a brilliant router, great range. I can get halfway up the street before I lose connection.

Re: R36 Firmware Beta Test (was R35)

See - the Superhub is far more secure than all these alternatives - you can't even connect to mine from a different room let alone hack in from anywhere outside the house.
