Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)
Get the engineer to replace it anyway, if you can. Someone mentioned that SH1's aren't even carried any more, so you should get a SH2 (assuming they've run out of SH1's).

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)
Hmm, those levels actually look all right at first glance, but you're getting loads of T3 and T4 timeouts so yeah, definitely a network issue. I'm not sure what a tech is going to be able to do but it'll get sorted soon enough hopefully.

Looks like my son has some SNR issues leading to the packet loss. His SH1 goes to rats after a few days anyway and needs rebooting to cut down on jitter. Power is on the high side too but mine ran at same sort of level OK.

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)
Wish I could say the same.
Had my trial SH2 Modem Mode (signal levels spot on) replaced with new SH2 Modem Mode (signal levels spot on) last week - not that anyone was expecting it to make a jot of difference. This has been going on since September and no sign of any improvement whatsoever. Looks like network problems in the Hemel/Luton area as the Luton VM server on speedtest can't even return decent figures. VM Forum team say there is a Network fault that has been partly addressed, but work is still continuing. CS says network fault is not affecting me. So where does the truth sit, I wonder? Oh yes, and Tivo can't manage to get a netflix stream above about 380 lines in the evening either.

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)
I recall in the SH2 trial that many people reported regular ping spikes in their TBB charts, I've trawled through the trial posts, but can't find the thread about this behaviour, and as I didn't have this with my original SH2 during the trial it wasn't one of my regular threads.
With my replacement SH2 I am getting regular maximum spikes every 15 minutes. Can anyone remember what was the cause of the regular spikes and what was the cure please?
120Mbs service, JDAST averages 71Mbps down, 4.6Mbps up, but with evening performance dropping to less than 10Mbps down and 2Mbps up. Power and noise levels all within acceptable ranges. Running in modem mode, up for 5 days, pre/post RS values quite high, pre:10000 to 18000, post: 7500 to 8500 but not increasing.
Apart from JDAST, what other regular monitors do people run to record network performance over time?

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)
I gave up using JDAST when VM provided seers on speed test.net. The only problem I had with JDAST was a dubious upload site that I could not change. So I couldn't trust the upload figures.

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)
Is there anyway to automate speedtest.net to record on a regular basis?

I think TBB has a speed monitor program you can download and use?

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)
Mine went very messy looking since around Christmas.
Quite a difference when comparing to early December.
