Re: Major TiVo Update
I've had the update for a while now, but when I turned on my TiVo earlier today I noticed something that I've never seen before.
At the top left of the screen a long thin pop up message appeared
It went away so quickly I didn't see what it said in full, but it did mention something about a software update.
Did those already on the new software receive a further update early this morning?

Could this have been a message from your Smart TV? I get a message occasionally and have to re-boot my Sony television - it takes about 30 minutes.

The on demand menus are definitely better. However, I was disappointed to see that 'Kingdom' wasn't displayed in 'box sets'. I think VM should either have a separate section for their exclusives so people can find them and/or ensure that all of their TV series are listed under box sets.
Otherwise, they will wonder why more people aren't watching them and go back to disinterest in content!

Another issue is when loading on demand I get a black screen with no response at all until I deceive to reboot the box.
The TiVo is a Samsung box and since the update is not worth using.

The thing I have noticed is that when leaving the TV guide by pressing Tv it takes between 10-15 seconds to return to the full screen. At first it hangs then goes to a blank screen, then eventually the channel appears. I have had the update just over a week, also a samsung box.

Re: Major TiVo Update
I've never really had a problem with the speed of my TiVo, it's never been lightning quick but it has been acceptable.
However this update has definitely slowed things down. I think we'll just have to accept that the hardware cannot cope with the new software and live with it. All I do is reboot the box every few days, this makes it quicker for a bit.
The only hope is any future updates make the UI quicker, I won't hold my breath

Re: Major TiVo Update
I hate all the black screens that now appear when I go into my shows. At least before the update I had the spinning circle to show that the Tivo was attempting to do what I requested. So far I haven't found any improvement in speed over the last version in fact it feels a lot clunkier.

Re: Major TiVo Update
Hello all, long time lurker here.
Is anyone having trouble with the red button on Channel 5 since the update?
When pressing it, the box goes through the motions of loading (spinning wheel etc) but then returns to the Press Red icon in the top right corner. At this point changing channel and generally using the remote is impossible without first pressing TV or Clear - it's as though the box thinks it's in the red button app, but in reality it isn't....
Any ideas?

Re: Major TiVo Update
The update was there when I turned on my telly yesterday evening after work. So, I assume it must have updated on Tuesday night. I'm in SE London.
Can't say I have noticed a HUGE difference, to be honest. Logos beside the TV channels in the EPG. Have't tried the Series Link + yet, although it hasn't converted any existing series links to the new format that I can tell.
I did have a quick whizz around the various menus... pictures now in the Box Sets menu.. haven't noticed much other changes but I haven't had time to play with it properly.
Haven't noticed any issues with performance of the box, but then again my box is only 5 months old.
However, the Dolby output seems to have got better... certainly on movies in Sky Cinema. not sure if that is as a result of the update or something else.

There is currently a problem with the Catch Up linking on the ITV channels, but other channels should work OK. The fault is unrelated to the new software - it's a fault at the headend.

There are a couple of Dolby fixes in the new software.

Re: Major TiVo Update
Something I've only noticed the last couple of days, perhaps because of my box not being rebooted overnight recently.
The bug where recorded programs say "may be deleted in x days" because of disk space, but in my experience rarely are... still seems to be there.
