As we're all anonymous on here...does anyone here ACTUALLY 'use' these Adult channels???
I mean...aren't they a bit pointless when u can just flick your laptop on and actually see the 'proper' stuff for free... lol
Seems like a total waste of time VM having these at all.

Great news!
All Sky channels available through Virgin Media have now been enabled for multi-room streaming.
Meaning Virgin Media TiVo customers can now stream all 37 Sky channels on up to six TiVo boxes in the home.
|
That's very good news and long overdue. Might even make me get another tivo.

Never 'used' an adult channel, like you said it's available for free via other methods if you so need.

If Netflix is going to be free it'll be in the big kahuna + packages
does VIP even exist anymore anyway?
|
Yeah that's a good point, Vince. Its only the TV packages that the extra incentives, not the actual collection or bundle itself. That would mean if it were to happen, free Netflix would be on TV XL.

For me, I'd rather not see them at all. Especially as they have place holder pictures which although no where near hardcore are a bit salacious.
I can't imagine for the life of me that VM make much money on them being there.

I agree. But replacing SD channels with HD ones is not the solution.

Unless of course they changed their policy. Although it is always wise to look to the past and the present to predict the future, we should never rule out fundamental change.
There is absolutely nothing that I can see that would prevent VM from offering streaming services free or at a greatly reduced price on the top package to encourage viewers to pay top whack. However, by excluding that package from other viewers on lower packages, the attraction of the wholesale deal to the likes of Netflix would be diminished. That would have consequences for any deal made with VM.

This is very possible, because, of course VM want us all paying the most amount of money possible

I actually have the 'Hide Adult Channels' setting on since they're just a waste of time when you're trying to flick by the movie channels to get to the sports channels.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 3
I did also notice from the EPG shuffle, that VM have tried to group some channel's SD, +1 and HD versions together. This is also a good move in my opinion. Keeps everything nice and tidy on the EPG for those with an OCD for all things logical ;-)
saw this on VM Forum
"With so much great content joining our line up. You may have noticed a few channels have moved around.
They’ll take some getting used to so to avoid button bashing there’s a quick update below.
The good news is…
This won’t affect your planned recordings, series links or WishLists – so there’s no need to panic"

They have a list of the channels that have moved, but they are in the most random order ever just to confuse us!!! NOT VERY LOGICAL AT ALL haha

Sky Sports News HD will launch on Virgin Channel 511.
Sky News HD will launch on Virgin Channel TBC.[COLOR="Silver"]
Do you think the news channels would have a little shuffle?
Just thinking about it, It would seem silly to have BBC News on 601, Sky News on 602, Sky News HD on 603 *If it was to be launched here* then BBC News HD on 604.
This would be better IMO:
Sky News - 601
Sky News HD - 602
BBC News - 603
BBC News HD - 604
|
BBC News should have the better EPG listing. Sky lost the top spot when the Sky Basics were removed and BBC News replaced them. In addition BBC News HD was made available from launch, whilst Sky News HD hasn't. Then there's the quality aspect...

Yes, I too suspect that the channel is being wound down and, therefore, won't be coming to VM.

VM like to keep the x00 channel numbers for barker channels in the various genres.

Same here, anyone who doesn't want them visible can easily remove them from the EPG

As you agree and as you're saying you're not the guilty party here, all is forgiven. I save my wrath for the true culprit.
But I'm not sure where you're coming from when you're talking about replacing SD channels with HD ones. That is not what this is about, we're not talking a HD/SD swap merely having numbered channels on the most logical channel number. Having a channel with 1 in it on channel position 502 is not logical and counterintuitive.
