Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
Hi
A couple of things.
Firstly some new dates. Coventry, Lichfield and Swindon areas will all start receiving the download from Wednesday 12th May.
Secondly, as has been mentioned above. There has been some replanning of the dates for Warwick, Hemel Hempstead and Andover. They were all due to start this week but have been delayed for a few days. This is for operational reasons, and not because of any problems with the downloads. I'll let you know the new dates as soon as they are confirmed.
Cheers
Sam

Awww, I got my new booklet in the post this week, I was hoping to go home this evening (Hemel) and find my box was updated last night!
Sam, I noticed that there was an extra insert in the envelope describing how to re-set the STB so that Scart AV control is 'on'. Has this insert been part of the mailing from day one, or is this an issue that was identified part way through the roll-out?

Sorry about that!
The extra insert in the envelope was not included from day one. It was added in after a couple of the pilot downloads.

You need to have your TV connected via SCART. And with most TVs only one SCART input (AV1) supports RGB. Finally, you may have a duff SCART cable.
When you get it working, the difference will be obvious.

Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
With so many people complaining about the browsing speed, there's one thing which immediately springs to mind.
On Sky, when using the Mini-Guide, if you hold down one of the arrow buttons, it skims through the channel list, enabling to speed through the listings to the channel you're looking for. Is there something preventing ntl from doing this?? If not, why don't they?? It could be included in the next MR.
Cheers,

Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
Has anyone else had the problem with channel listings by the way? For the last couple of weeks the info actually appearing on the mini-guide (or anywhere else) has been sporadic at best...and for me hasn't been there at all since last Sunday. Is this a separate issue or something related?

That has been an issue with BCR3, though you'd think they would have made sure it wasn't there in LCR3 wouldn't you
Have you tried rebooting your box??? That tends to solve it down here.

I have my STB connected through a scart and my DVD and my VCR, My TV has 3 scart connections which is fine for all of the above.
I did have the STB set to the scart function, but every so often this just changed the channel itself, which really bugged me, so i switched that off.
But what is better, composite or RGB???
I am doing the place up in the next month or so, so I will play about with teh scarts then.

RGB if your TV accepts takes the signal and displays it correctly. Mine will not centre the signal, so I use the RGB only on the DVD player.
That said the composite output of the boxes is very good (even when remodulated to go through the aerial).

Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
Nottingham is getting the download this week but I am concerned since one of the STB's in our house has problems getting data for programs & interactive. Its rare to ever see program information, interactive will not start and PPV info never downloads (stays on 'Loading Data'). Does this mean the new software download will fail? The other STB in our house works fine (and is sharing the same line with the cable modem).
Should we call ntl to have them sort it out?

if you set a reminder, and then go to diary , if you look, really quickly, where the Green button icon would be at the bottom of the screen you can see the option, Manual Reminder, for a second or two, wonder why they took this option off after a few seconds.
not that you would actually need manual reminder.

Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
Just cannot fathom how NTL can release such a **** poor epg as this. The previous, simpler, epg was far superior as you were actually able to do what you wanted quickly. I firmly believe the people who design these epg don't actually watch television on a regular basis.
- The thing is so slow sometimes you're as quick going to find the radio times.
- There is no way to skip up 100, 200, 300 in the mini guide
- It takes up far too much of the screen
Overall a completely useless upgrade and the channels are still all in the wrong place, the one change that would actually warrant an epg update.
