So, just to confirm how thick I am, if I look for number 10 and it magically appears, I am nearly there for 50Mb?

And it looks like I am still on cpc3-hem17-0-0-cust***.lutn.cable.ntl.com.

No, you're not on Luton you're on Hemel Hempstead - note the hem17 bit there.

OK. Why is there a lutn later in the identifier?

Please give me a noddy view on what I need to look for if 50Mb is on its way?

OK. I found up to heme-cmts-08.network.virginmedia.com. 09 does not exist right now.

Am I right in saying I will be transferred off of cpc3-hem17 and on to 09 when it is ready and then I can order 50Mb???

Makes sense. Did you know there were 7 before you just checked? Maybe 7 is the lcky number..

Ah yes! heml was typo'd as hem1 back in the day so you're actually on cmts-07 at the moment.

Yes heme-09 will probably be your route to happiness!

No, I just checked, there will not be a £50 activation fee. It was explained that because I already am connected, activation will not need to be paid for. The modem comes free, but I need to pay £30 for radio router supply installation.

Whoever told you that rubbish needs a firm slap. You will be charged the full amount.

Ben which part of all this do your colleagues struggle with, it's a couple of lines they have to read and understand?

At a guess, it's the "reading" and "understanding" parts that they struggle with..

This below is taken from HERE

Installation charges apply (starting from £30 for standard installation). An additional £50 activation fee is payable for 50Mb broadband.
