Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 4)
Guys,
I think what would be of great use is building some kind of list of areas of the country and whether you have got your 3mbit / 2mbit working, also being able to tell people what your local ntl server is (mine is in Hertford/Ware and I am on the Luton main server).
If we build up a list of areas and local ntl servers that have 3mb fully available then it will help people understand better and saves calling TS, just a thought.... if someone else is in the same area as myself and has not been able to get 3mbit yet I have, then they can take that to TS.

Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 4)
Just went onto the upgrade page and completed the process (seemingly successfully).
A page said that my SACM would reboot causing a temporary loss in service - anyone know how long this takes?? Or would the best option be to reboot myself?
Just another thought??!!
James

Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 4)
To my earlier message, It was the lady on CS that said it is not being upgraded until next month.thought I had best point that out as i don't want anyone blaming me for bad info. Btw I am in the Birkenhead area of Merseyside if it makes any difference, could be different in L'pool.

I am also in Birkenhead and had no problem upgrading from 1.5 to 3Meg this morning by a very nice person at Billing.

Just tested the speed of my connection - comes in at just under 2Mbps. Not much noticable in the speed of general surfing though?? But sure - its free isnt it??

I noticed that too.. zero speed increase in web browsing. In fact going from 300k to 750k was little difference either really so I wasn't particularly surprised. Sites which were sluggish to respond before are still sluggish to respond; presumably the bottleneck is at their end, not mine (or ntl's).

Small correction here.
There are people who signed up yesterday getting installed this morning.

Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 4)
Just got off the phone to NTL, spoke to a very nice scottish lady who arranged to swap over my Pace STB to a Samsung next Tuesday. All I then have to do is phone NTL on Tuesday and they will upgrade the speed and job done!!!
No mention of an upgrade to 1MB until then but it's only 4 days away and I can wait until then.
I hate to say it but... Well done NTL (or at least the very nice scottish lady )

Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 4)
I called CS last night as the auto upgrade page did nothing for me. Was told he could do it there and then and my 1.5MB would be 3MB in half an hour.
This morning it still hasn't been done, so called CS again. Now I'm told that there's no such thing as requesting the speed upgrade, and that it'll happen automatically at some point!
What a FARCE
I'm in the brighton area BTW

Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 4)
This Morning I phoned NTL CS (option 5) to request an upgrade to 3mb, I spoke to a very nice lady (sounded like a Gordie) who said she would have to send an email to Tech Support (i think) anyway after a lot of typing, I will be upgraded in a couple of days (Hopefully)
