Exactly same issue i had before i reverted back to the home hub 5, bts home hub 6 is useless at moment hopefully a future software update fixes it.

Wherever you go, it will be a downgrade, Richard, as long as you accept this.
Sky is the only place to go to maintain or exceed your TV choice selection and any broadband provider other than Virgin will be inferior.

Not really no just because a router is faulty or having issues doesn't mean you need to switch, in this case the op could source a home hub 5 which works superbly or buy a vdsl router of their own.
TP-link are pretty solid routers, vms new hub is far worse from what i've read on various forums but same with vm no need to switch just because of a rubbish hub just connect another router to the superhub and use the new router to conect too.

Yes, fair point. What is the maximum speed BT offer, though? Isn't VM the faster at present?

Depends where you are in some areas BT offer upto 300mbs, i get 78mbs no traffic management with 19mbs upload which is fine for me. In fact 38mbs but be fine for me with 9mbs upload but being a gaming streamer the extra upload speed comes in use.
Ok VM offer 200mbs in my area but being a heavy streamer by the time vm finish traffic managing me i'd probably only be getting 50mbs which would be fine for me however vms upload speeds lets them down greatly they do now offer a gaming option i believe?
BT are testing 300mbs in my area too but overall fastest provider is hyperoptic who offer 1gbs sadly they aren't in my block yet.

Sounds like VM needs to step up to keep ahead with broadband.
