They are a waste of time in your opinion - I personally find them very handy if I have missed the start of a program for any reason.

TiVo will automatically try and use use the +1's for wishlish that fail to to their being no tuners available - and it does need to here sometimes.
I personally would rather have another +1 entertainment channel then see BoxNation.
But then I would rather see the 2 Premier Sports channels over two +1's.

Really? I couldn't have guessed that from the 20 other posts stating exactly the same thing.

I think it due to the following:
Premier Sports maybe want to become part of the XL Pack but Virgin maybe want Premier Sports to become an add on due to the man who runs Premier Sports was one of bosses of Setanta Sports UK.

Premier Sports was formed in 2009 by the Irish businessman Michael O'Rourke, a part owner of Setanta Sports Channel Ireland Limited.

You might be right. When Setanta Sports went off air, can you remember how many people were angry posting Virgin must reduce the price of XL or I'm away to SKY etc... I think this forced Virgin to agree a very similar deal with ESPN when it launched.
I can fully understand why Virgin wouldn't want Premier Sports on XL. For me this channel, along with Box Nation should be available to customers on a subscription basis. If you want the channel, you need to pay for it. All though I want both channels, I'd find it very difficult to justify either or both being added to XL. I tried to make a case for Premier Sports being on XL however I have changed my mind.
