Re: Formula One Motor Racing

he tested for jaguar once, and if i remember right they had problems with the car.
but if you are looking at irl stars for f1,frank williams should take a look at sam hornish jnr,now there's a guy who knows how to win races.

Re: Formula One Motor Racing

agreed some of these guys are good but i think the transition from IRL to GP is a lot harder than GP to IRL.

I think Takuma Sato ought to get a shot at the big teams.

Ok, he's a little wild at the moment, but I think that's partly frustration that he can't get quite enough out of the BAR and I reckon he could turn out to be a very good driver.

I've just Googled and the latest news is that Pizzonia has got the Williams drive at the moment.

Re: Formula One Motor Racing

possibly so,but if f1 is the pinnacle of motor racing,i think some of these guys should be given a try.
after all how can they call it the pinnacle of motor racing when if you have enough money you can buy a drive.just look at baumgartner, pantano, firman.guys like these wouldn't be looked at twice if they didn't bring big bucks to the teams.

Well that's the marketting hype, anyway!

Personally I think the pinnacle of *racing* comes with the "single formula" championships where they're all driving the same car, so it is *really* down to driver skill (although I still think MS would keep winning!!)

You mean Formula Ford. One of the most entertianing forms of open wheel non contact racing. The pity is we dont see it on TV much.

Re: Formula One Motor Racing

personally i can't wait for montoya to get to mclaren, with a good car and montoya with the right attitude i think we should see some good racing next year.
i rate him more than raikonen and coulthard.
and i think he is p*ssed off with williams at the moment so is not really trying.
besides montoya is the only driver ms is scared of

Not necessarily.

For instance the new circuit at Bahrain produced some stunning racing.

IMO courses like that should be the norm and nonsense like Monaco should be dumped.

Re: Formula One Motor Racing

get rid of circuits like Monaco, significantly reduce downforce, more cars and then it might be worth watching
