1 x Standard 321 telephone - £0

What do you think i can get the prices down to or any upgrades? I have been a customer since ntl started, around 8/9 years.

Thanks for your help.

decide what is the most important and push for that .. if you want fast bb .. or more tv stuff .. but i am sure they will go as low as 1/2 of ur bill now. I was averging about 60£ and now should averg about 30£ isch ..

Re: NTL offering package to challenge talk talk

I managed to get some sort of discount, after ringing them up.

Before:
1 x Family plus Sports and Movies - £52.50
4 x Additional Set top box rent - £60
1 x 1MB BB - £17.99
1 x Standard 321 telephone - £0
1 x Line rental with tv pack - £0

Total: £130.49 (not including calls i pay for)

After:
1 x Family plus Sports and Movies - £42.50( 6 months only)
4 x Additional Set top box rent - £45
1 x 2MB BB - £12.50
1 x Standard 321 telephone - £0
1 x Line rental with tv pack - £0

Total: £110 (not including calls i pay for)

Do you think i could have got a better deal? If so what could i try and get? I can't see how i can get a better deal as the tv package is the same as sky's price wise i believe, sky charge £10 a box so thats almost identical. Maybe i could get a better telephone package for free?

Thanks

well got my bill and guess what the changes show but the amount i usually pay is still the same £50 a month, so just got off of the phone to retentions and the guy says that the amount i really ows is only £7.48 but the bill was generated before the discounts and it's best to pay the full bill as i will be in credit next month! is he just stringing me along? and does this sound right?

wait till next month .. it is probbaly true i would think as they charge in advanced. give them the benefit of doubt and wait till next bill .. wright down names of who you speak to, and ask allways that they confirm the changes on your account.

Re: NTL offering package to challenge talk talk

Could someone please tell me what the "Talk Talk" offer is and could I just change back to BT to get this offer. I have the 2 meg bb @ £24.99 and a telephone line, could I make any savings ?

I know its not just you but broadband is so devalued by consumers here.

Re: NTL offering package to challenge talk talk

I got the following packages at the moment:

Family Pack £30.00
2mbit Broadband £24.99

I'm going to want to cancel the digital TV (gonna get Sky!) so what kind of deal can I expect for 10mbit broadband and telephone (talk unlimited 24 + line rental)? £20.99?

I seriously am considering TalkTalk but I've been with ntl for over 10 years and if they can match the broadband and telephone with them for me I'll be sticking with ntl.

Also, whats the latest cable modem ntl are giving their broadband customers? I'm currently connecting through a Samsung STB but I won't have that much longer.

i had a simular situation, cancel tv keep bb and phone, they price matched the talktalk offer 20.99 for 10mbit, phone, tu24 + 5£ for basic tv. so 20.99 should be your aim for phon/bb ..

but if you are going with sky for tv .. sky is going to offer a very competitive adsl/tv/phone packge in the near future (next few month i would think).

Re: NTL offering package to challenge talk talk

I rang 'em and I'm currently on 1meg for £10 which expires in a couple of months - told 'em I wanted to cancel due to talk talk and customer services offered me 1meg for £10 forever - told them I wanted the increased speed talktalk offered so no thanks.

Got transferred to a retentions professional who said that as I'd been with NTL for a long time he could offer 10meg for £10 a month which I accepted instead of taking my custom elsewhere. Now before you suggest NTL are losing business on this - I hardly use my connection - my monthly usage probably is in the region of 2gigs.

Re: NTL offering package to challenge talk talk

as I was paying £10 a month they're getting the same money and unless I become more interested in the internet thus using it more, the profit is same as before.
