Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV 2014
Its not even that - its that OLD BOY et al started off by heavily pedalling the 'sources say' line, but when it was obvious it wasn't even remotely true and they missed multiple so called launch dates the line switched to 'oh they were only rumours/guesses based on random news articles/etc', and it totally destroyed the credibility of the thread - and its all because OLD BOY wanted to look like 'Big Man On Campus' so took a punt on something happening from nothing.
It's pathetic really, and you still don't realise all this ire is entirely your own making.

Get over it guys.
SA is of interest to a lot of people and so will get mentioned on this thread.
Learn to skip posts that include references to SA, as other people do on posts that contain things that don't interest them. Simple really

Nobody's asking for it not to be mentioned. I'm sure everybody does skip posts that don't interest them. We all scroll past those ones that are longer than a roll of Andrex (and are covered in much the same thing) that appear every week or so.
What we're asking for is for there to be some sort of foundation to these posts rather than being posted because the writer is bored.
Perhaps you're misunderstanding my earlier reference to 'the channel that shouldn't be mentioned'. This was an attempt at gentle humour and was in reference to the person who had made a particular of themselves previously. It's not that I think SA shouldn't be mentioned, I share other's desire of it, but we all know it's not coming soon. So let's try and keep the thread on-topic.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV 2014
Hi Guys why can't we have two headings one entitled "coming soon to virgin tv confirmed" the other "coming soon to virgin tv unconfirmed ".that way you won't need to trawl through all the current posts to try to find the confirmed new channels coming to virgin.it would mean the people who want to guess, heard rumours, make it up,speculate would still be able to post and others who would just like to read about confirmed new channels would be catered for.just a thought.cheers

SA is not of interest to others too. Why should they not be able to voice their views on it?
You could also skip over the posts in which people say they don't care for it too - much like you could with this post.

No one is saying they shouldn't voice there opinion on SA. It's that they seem to think it shouldn't be discussed at all on this thread. In their view it's not coming, so shouldn't be discussed That is different.
But they have the same amount of evidence to say that it isn't coming as those who say it is; i.e. none.
Anyway, last post from me on this.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV 2014
More change on the way for TiVo apparantly a software update is coming within next 2 months. I have no idea how true this is so take it with a pinch of salt.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV 2014
Well chucking in my 2 bobs worth about SA, which I have access to through the Sky Go app I'd say that 80% of the content is repeated rubbish already shown on other channels but 20% (generous?) is HBO premium programming which I enjoy. GOT, Boardwalk, etc
However I never use the app to watch these programs 'live'. I still get them downloaded (argue the ethics if you will), which means I can watch at my convenience and with no adverts. The 'live channel' carries no convenience for me and even if it were available would I TiVo the premium programs even if they were already available on Usenet ahead of the UK air date, personally I'd say no.
So the channel itself as a 'live' product is of no interest but the premium content, if available as an On Demand or Catch up service would definitely be of interest. How likely the HBO products will be available that way is probably very low due to contractual arrangements with Sky but in time that's an arrangement that would possibly see me leave Usenet behind and my conscience, if I had one, would be clear.
But it's not coming soon so perhaps this post is moot.
History HD anyone?

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV 2014
Just been looking at a series on Wiki, and it seems that FOX have launched a sister channel to FX (now FOX I believe) called FXX. Is there any plans for this to be brought into the UK, or if it does is it likely to be a SKY exclusive thing at first?
