That Stefan GP bought out Toyota's F1 assets, factory, designs, car and personnel, meant that they had a team there but no slot. Toyota had an F1 entry.

I suspect that USF1 will cut a deal with the Serbians, although I really dont like the thought that a team will pitch up in Bahrain having done no testing.

Wonder how Jaque Villenueves neck will hold out?

Re: Formula 1 2010 Season [may contain real time spoilers]

It seems to have become a bit farcical this year, what with people leaving then staying, then someone else buys them out.
Now we have some Serbian government backed team probably going to be on the grid for Bahrain.............very, very unlike F1

Bernie likes his political/important friends

Re: Formula 1 2010 Season [may contain real time spoilers]

with hindsight the FIA should have let in Prodrive and Lola.

USF1 were announced over a year before they were due to come in and funded by either one of the google or yahoo people, forget which. They have now pulled out as have other sponsor due to the financial crisis.

Not long until the first race and should be a good year with Button \ Hamilton in one team, against Alonso \ Massa and Webber \ Vettel. Only thing is in Mercedes there is really just Schumacher to score the top points which if the others take points off each other could help him out.

I think too many people are making too much a fuss over Schumacher. I really don't think he is up to competing with the current crop of Young Turks.

Never right off Schuy, the guy still owns 31 F1 records. (and he hasn't raced in 3 seasons)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael...la_One_records

32 if the following happens

It is also of note that as of the end of 2004 season, he did win every circuit he had ever raced in at least once. For him to regain the record upon his return to Formula 1, he will have to win at Turkish Grand Prix, and the new night races at Singapore and Valencia and any new races introduced in the 2010 season (The day/night race at Abu Dhabi and maybe Korea).

It now appears that neither USF1 nor Campos will be on the grid for the season-opener at Bahrain.

feel sorry for the drivers who signed up to what they thought was going to be a new team and now with a few weeks to go before the season starts will have no drives.

But they will still have the chance to drive at some point during the season.

Re: Formula 1 2010 Season [may contain real time spoilers]

I thought Campos had the funds and a car. Now who's gonna take that one on?! Dallara can't afford their own team at the moment, they're a chassis builder, and a good one at that!

At this rate there probably won;t be much sense in putting up a poll this year, mainly as I think this indecision will be continuing right upto and probably past the first race..

Will probably instead just start a which driver and which team would you like to win this year thread instead soon

they were meant to have the funds and as you say Dallara are building the chassis. I think some of the funding was coming from Senna but for whatever reason the funds are no longer in place. They haven't paid Dallara and so have no car at the moment. Not even sure if it has passed the FIA crash tests

Apparently there Colin Kolles is going to run the "Campos" operation from the Opel DTM Factory in Germany. They have already paid Cosworth for the engines and have had a further injection of Cash from Spain. Should be there in Bahrain, although how much running they will do is any bodys guess.
