Re: R36 Firmware Beta Test (was R35)
I wonder if this is the update that contains the mooted upstream bonding stuff?
Makes sense that they want to get it out regardless of minor bugs if thats the case.

There have been people on the beta forum that have stated this issue has been fixed.
Also blizzard downloader has been fixed aswell, no reboots to factory default. Thank god!

Re: R36 Firmware Beta Test (was R35)
How is the wireless range, has it been improved at all? Also have they finally given us an option to turn of some off the disco lights, mainly the stupid round blue VM on the front?! If not, I would be grateful if someone could ask for this on the beta forum!

Re: R36 Firmware Beta Test (was R35)
I just taped mine over.
The wireless range is a dead duck though... there's only so much that can be done, as the positioning of the antenna's themselves are what the main cause of the poor wireless range is.

The wireless range is still quite poor. I have had to go back to my own router as the signal from the SH is just too weak, and I don't live in a cavernous mansion either!
I use a bit of blu-tack on my light

Thanks for the reply. Sounds positive, any idea when this will be released to everyone?

Re: R36 Firmware Beta Test (was R35)
Does anyone know when the alpha version of R36 firmware will be released and how are subscribers informed?
I`ve asked on VM forum and had no answer.
Also,is the update applied automatically down the cable or does it have to be applied manually?Sorry if it seems a dumb question but I really don`t know.
Thanks,Dave

Re: R36 Firmware Beta Test (was R35)
I'd be mildly horrified if they pushed out the alpha version to subscribers, so hopefully never. The release version, however...

Alpha's come before Betas, then release candidates and finally a full release.. So only a select few will only ever see Alphas.
As for the full release once authorised the superhub will automatically get a signal to update.

..but you can see why logically you might expect an Alpha test to be more extensive than a Beta
