I think the TV series was pretty good. Bit shaky at the start, but improved a lot.

Currently reading Ronans Revenge by James Bibby
Definitely one for Nug as this has more puns per page than even he can come up with from Baq Door to Gudmornen and the Ilex Plains to Nevacom Plains. not to mention Near Kinnel and our heroes Ronan, Tyson, Tarl & Puss (the talking Donkey) well before Shrek and Stargate Atlantis (although the Ronan character is very similar in appearance)
