PSV stopped them effectively???? Milan had 9 shots on target to PSV's 6. 8 corners to PSV's 0. Yes PSV were dominant in the second half but if you watch Milan you know they have confidence in their defense. They are happy to go a goal ahead and then sit back.
If Milan don't win it this year I will get a Liverpool tattoo.

Re: [Merged] Football talk
9 shots on target and only 2 goals ? poor ratio. I heard of teams getting more shots on target and still come away with a defeat. Statistics means nothing really. Liverpool were all over Chelsea three times and still lost. Just luck and creating luck + hard work will get u the results. Plus a one off final means anything could happen. Last time AC Milan won it, it was via a penalty kick out so they aren't the overpowering all conquering team everyone makes them out to be.

Sorry gazzae, but do have any idea how much I now want Chelsea, Liverpool or PSV to win?
Will you post pictures of the tattoo at all?

Who makes them out to be an overpowering, all conquering team?
I don't. I make them out to be a very good defensive team. A team who knows that chances are they will only need one goal to win, so once they get that goal they are very happy to sit back and let the other team come at them.

Rio Ferdinand urged the Jody Morris to "kill" a photographer and "stamp on his head" during a late-night fracas, according to a report in the Daily Mirror. Rio's agent has branded the story "nonsense" - although, sadly, there's been no denial that Rio would be stupid enough to spend time with Morris
|
Apparently Rio also "pushed a tin of paint at the photographer and thrown a bag of CDs".
Is this another load of nonsense?

Interesting article
here
On why Liverpool could be in the Champions League next year, and the reasons why UEFA rules deliberately do not include a clause that the holders get automatic entry the following season.

Re: [Merged] Football talk
Arsene Wenger has come out with his excuse for not winning the premiership - the pitches are too bad and the weather is too cold.

Re: [Merged] Football talk
it's UEFA fault for bowing down to the clubs in the first place. The champion of each league in Europe.. be it TNS or Inter Bratislava should qualify for the group stages. If UEFA want to have second and third placed teams playing then they should all be forced to qualify
even better would be to go back to the old pre 92 format and just have home and away with the winners of each league in UEFA entered all others go into the UEFA Cup

Wenger said: "In November to January, I feel that you cannot play with the same quality of passing as you can in March or April as the grass and pitches are not as good.
Indeed, Wenger believes that the climate may also have contributed to Jose Antonio Reyes' loss of form after a stunning start to the season, with the Spaniard only now looking back to his best.
"With him, it might also be a climate problem. Seville or Bolton in winter is a big difference!" he remarked.

It's not a good thing to happen to any club, but if there is a time, just after relegation when you still have games is far from the worst.

Yep, if it has to be done, this season is the time to do it, only thing is the club need a quarter of a million to stay afloat through the close season or it will close, the directors are asking the fans to dip in their pockets once again, t*****s.
Today we heard from one director that the club is safe, only to be told later from the chairman it was entering into administration, this can only happen at Cambridge United.
I sincerely hope the administrators find some dodgy dealing's and that the director's are bought to book about it all.
All I can say is the fans are very agitated by it all.

As I maybe should have said... it's not a fate I'd wish on anyone not even Direby C*nty... but, the timing is spot on.
Let's hope you recover... IIRC, Aldershot were the last English side to go through, and that was about 1991.
