This has been extended until the end of January, it's either a really popular offer or not at all.

thanks for this, had 2 months at £1/mth from a chromecast offer, just applied the first code for another month for free

What services does it give you that is not on, say, a Roku box or Amazon FTV? AFTV does have Now TV and Google play missing. Are there any services missing from the Shield?

I was specifically looking for something for streaming say from a PC or attached hard drive than any online service , it was just some of the reviews i was reading about abdroid boxes talking about lag and not being stable or some chinese knock off.
sort of looking for a work horse that does a bit of everything but reliable and snappy to use

For local network streaming a Raspberry Pi3 with kodi or Plex may be an inexpensive place to start. £40- £50 should get you up and running assuming you need to get a micro sd card, HDMI cable and a power source.
Alternatively you could get a now tv box and side load plex.

Re: Netflix/Streaming Services
You can add Kodi to an Amazon FTV. I use it for streaming my personal ripped DVDs. Old Uk TV shows can be a bit jerky via the AFTV, and I tend to use Kodi Via PC for those. US shows are fine via FTV.
You'd be better looking at a forum such as this for the best advice:

Re: Netflix/Streaming Services
T95 Android tv box £40 does everything a nvidia shield does, obviously the shield has more bang in it but the t95 runs Android 5.0 soon to be upgraded to Android 6.0 has google play store, runs kodi flawlessly, has 2gb ram , 16gb storage, snapdragon quadcore processor, runs 4k flawlessly too has the tv apps you can get off google play and it upscales the video on them to give you decent quality.

Re: Netflix/Streaming Services
It is beginning to look like the days of people illegally downloading content may soon be over.
Interesting that pirates who stream exactly the same material are unaffected, though.

A vpn means they won't even see your ip so you won't even get a letter.
Also only BT, VM,SKY and Talktalk are doing this the same clowns who kiss studios backsides.

Since i started streaming on Kodi i cant see myself downloading that kind of stuff again as Kodi is awesome, i may as well ditch Netflix too.
