Unless you rent your TV from ntl, then I have no issue with you playing with its engineering menus!!!!!
No, just be careful, I wouldn't advise messing with options that potentially could stop it working.
Edit : I've also noticed that my Tivo gives a more pronounced left shift than my Sky box when using RGB. Different kit seems to vary. I doubt theres any change made in the new ntl software tho, I'm not aware of any.

Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
Hmmm, I assume this thread is all about my STB display stuff turning from purple to blue.
I just got "upgraded" yesterday morning (I'm in Leicester). Now my remote pretty much refuses to work at all. Very occasionally the STB will take notice of a button click on the remote, but mostly it just sits there. The LED on the front of the remote flashes as per usual (and yes, I've tried fresh batteries in it! )
Is this a horrible coincidence? Remote works OK, STB upgrades itself, remote goes to the Big Living Room in The Sky? Seems a bit far-fetched to me.

It has been said on here that the new software is not as responsive as the previous pink software.
I doubt very much your remote is the problem, although it may seem like it. I reckon it's all down to the software, hence why a change of batteries didn't help.

It seemed very terrible to me too, but a change of batteries DID fix my problem.

Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
Oh well, enough power cycling and judicious use of the magic 2-finger salute seemed to fix it.

A few people have said that power cycling the box a few times has improved its responsiveness, I can't see how tho?

Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
If you have a phase 1 stb these only have 4mb of memory (i think) so it maybe slow for this reason and rebooting would help as it will free up mamory, especially if you use guide and interactive a lot!
If not, ring faults and they will get a tech out to it!

All boxes have 8Mb of usable memory (despite what it says in the engineering screens ), and it all gets allocated afresh each time you boot, so I can't see this being the cause.
My best guess is it depends on the order which it receives the cyclically-transmitted data off the network. (i.e. it is effectively random).

Does anyone know why in my error log I keep seeing 'lost Davic connection'?

I am in the Glasgow area.
So when does the downloads happen, e.g. 2am like when the time changes from summer time to wintertime?

Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
Don't know the time the downloads happen, best thing is to just leave it on standby overnight to get it as soon as it is available to you.
Some more dates...
Reading: downloads start from Tuesday 4th May.
Oxford: downloads start from Wednesday 5th May.
Nottingham: downloads start from Thursday 6th May.
Cheers

Improved Digital TV Service - Is it?
Hi,
I receive service from the Luton area and recently got the Improved Digital Service.
From what I can deduce, this service makes heavier use of the Internet for operation which is bad news as my STB spends a lot of time with the "Please wait..." box displayed (often giving the appearance of being locked-up) and programme information isn't available a lot of the time.
I've also had the "Your Set Top Box is experiencing an issue" message several times and pressing Select doesn't Fix it. The STB does lock-up when this happens.
Are others experiencing similar problems and, if so, is there a resolution for them?
Regards,
Neil Darlow
