Fantastic game, just like an English FA cup match with added skill. I think that the Dutch defender should have been sent off for the first yellow card foul, never mind the second..
Over 36 attempts on goal.

Heitzigar? Didn't see the first yellow but that second booking shouldn't of even been a foul, nevermind a yellow card.
From what I saw in the second half.. Reffing was again dire. The germany/latvia game was pathetic from a ref's POV.. Dismissing 3 definite claims for a penalty. Seems they're scared to award them to the minnow teams.

Strangely enough, that didn't seem to stop it being an entertaining match. Attacking play from both teams.
Even after Koller was replaced by a defender, the Czechs were still going forward.

Believe me, the first yellow was a for a cynical, blatant scything down of an opponent who had skinned him with a great piece of skill . I think that the dear departed Kent Walton should be resurrected to commentate on the play in the box. As Ian Wright said, the Czech defender was almost "giving him one" when he held Van Nis in a bear hug before throwing him to the ground, Mick McManus would have been proud of that move.

Re: Euro 2004
I am gutted. Holland deserved a point from that game. I just hope the Czechs have the decency to field a decent side against Germany. I can just see Germany get an undeserved 1-0 win to the Czechs to proceed to the quarters at Holland's expense.

Well from my original post above.
It appears due to a technicality of English Law he has got away with it.
Accused of inciting a riot sentanced to 2 years then deported but because he never served any of his sentance over there then he was released here.

Says it all really about the good ole British Justice System.

Well done Portugal. My money was on Spain for this match, but despite a poor first half, Portugal worked harder than Spain, and deserved the win.

Re: Euro 2004
wanted Spain to get through but still nice to see the hosts go through and well done Greece. About 1 goal and no points or wins in WC or Euro and now thorugh to next round..
Abit worried about tonight no Hargreaves or Butt so if we want a defensive midfielder it will be Phil Neville He can't play, pass, has no vision and just gives away stupid fouls in dangerous places or worse still pens.. And that's from a Man U supporter

*Ahem* King? He plays defensive midfield normally. And he is bloody good at it. Seriously impressed in the opening game. He must have been a bit gutted at Terry coming back.
