Still, a good local derby to look forward to against the Black & Whites, thats if they are still in business in two years time.

Take it you mean the team just across the Trent... not a chance, they're going down at the same rate as we are...

Inter to sue Fan......
Quote:
Inter are seeking damages from a fan arrested by Italian police after the abandonment of their Champions League quarter-final with Milan.
The Inter fan, who Italian police have identified as Michele P, faces charges relating to the throwing of flares and other missiles on to the pitch during Tuesday's second leg.
With Inter facing a heavy fine and a ban from playing home games at their San Siro stadium, the club are eager to be seem to be doing something.
Public prosecutor Fabio Roia told the Italian news agency ANSA that Inter had made a formal written claim for damages.
†œI consider this a very important signal. It means that the club is distancing itself from its fans," said Roia. http://www.worldsoccer.com/news/inte...ews_63191.html

Re: [Merged] Football talk
although i don't agree with what the Inter fans did what was worrying was when Dida got hit he started to fall down, really slowly, going one way and then turned over in mid air to fall the other way.. Basically he was play acting after being hit by a flare.. that isn't relly on either..
not sure how they managed to bring all them flares into the ground in the first place

Perhaps he thought he was being tackled
Seriously though, I don't think the way he went down is an issue at all - the fact is he was hit by an object thrown by a fan and that is never ever justified or defensible. He could have stayed standing or done a double barrel roll - totally irrelevant IMO and not something which really needs to be discussed.

Re: [Merged] Football talk
Four game home ban and a fine for Inter.
Don't have a link as I got it in an email.
Quote:
AS THE FIVER WENT TO PRESS...
Internazionale have been forced to play their next four home games in
Europe behind closed doors and fined over GBP132,000 following crowd
trouble during their Big Cup quarter-final with AC Milan on Tuesday.
The second leg had to be abandoned after Inter fans threw flares onto
the San Siro pitch, one of which struck AC Milan goalkeeper Dida on
the shoulder. In total, the ban on fans at the San Siro is for six
matches but two of those have been suspended for three years. Uefa
confirmed AC Milan will go through to the semi-finals to face PSV
Eindhoven. The Rossoneri were leading the tie 3-0 on aggregate when
referee Markus Merk stopped play.

And he means to say he's never tapped up anyone, when there's absolutely no evidence to suggest Chelsea did. Kenyon's story is perfectly plausible, though it does seem a tad coincidental.

Re: [Merged] Football talk
Here is another wee teaser. Why are Milan know as Milan and not Milano (the Italian spelling)?

Given Chelsea's recent antics I'd hesitate at calling his story 'plausible'.

Re: [Merged] Football talk
Don't forget the 'wooly hat' incident with Rui Faria who all but admitted using it to hide his link back to Mourinho. I wouldn't trust any of Chelsea if my life depended on it.

Because they were founded by English like Athletic Bilbao.

You've ducked the main issue- and that's the double standards from Ferguson when it's been PROVED he's tapped up in the past [Stam]. When he's on the receiving end he doesn't like it, but it's OK when he does it. Clive Hunt of the highest order, right up there with Neil Warnock and his scheming tricks.

It is double standards to slag off chelsea for what he's allegedly done himself.
Just that Chelsea may have done it in a way which casts doubt over the incident.
I mean that you'd automatically assume that they wouldn't do it in such a public place. But who knows.
For me though, the agent seems to be playing the 2 clubs off each other, saying that Chelsea are after Ferdinand, so utd will increase their deal.

Yep.
The club was founded on 18 December 1899 as the 'Milan Cricket & Football Club', by a group of English soldiers and sailors. These English origins explain why todays club name still contains the English city name: Milan, whereas the city is named Milano in Italian. Founder Alfred Edwards became the very first chairman of the club
