Further to my list (not that I am bitter and twisted or anything)..
Anything by Will Young, Gareth Gates or the new Pop Idol (Michelle) or those two runners up for Pop Idol.. Not to mention that God awful song by (the thankfully now split up) One True Voice.

Definitely all take a lot of beating. And for those who don't know of them, think yourself lucky that you are so young that they escaped your sensitive ears.
Trouble is there are just soooo many to choose from. Birdy Song, Most of the "funny" Christmas novelty tunes - Postman Pat, Teletubbies, Orville the duck(worryingly had to buy two of those for my Mum as pressents in the past )
Going back in time: Terry Wogan's Floral Dance (had to suffer that for weeks as a youngster as my parents loved his breakfast show)
However a great deal of the chart stuff today is to me quite awful too.

Have to agree with you on the majority of this manufactured reality pop. However, some of Will Young's stuff recently, now that he's getting a bit of freedom to develop his style away from the formula stuff, is quite reasonable.

Re: The worst song you have ever heard
"Lovely Day", by Bill Withers always manages to get my back up
and there is a song that is very old called 'Norman' which I can't remember who sang (a female sang it) and it is truely dreadful
