I,ve just started online gaming after a 3 month lay-off [thanks to high pings] and its still as crap as it was 3 months ago. Just wish peeps would stop asking who my isp is, and are all UK isps that bad. Need to have a serious think, as it means converting my ntl phone back to BT for adsl [again].
My 12 months was up last month, so at least that helps, just wish they could sort it out for everyone. ;(
th'engineer: I'm sure if I did set aside an hour to call up tech support, and they sent out an engineer, it would be fixed for a short while. And then in two weeks time it would deteriorate again, just like it has whenever an engineer has visited in the past. It's just not acceptable to have a problem that keeps coming up again and again, and noone having a permanent fix for it. I think the bottom line is, the network is overloaded, and ntl haven't put enough money into maintaining/replacing the infrastructure in ex-C&W areas.
I have indeed voted with my feet, and I see a lot of users on this board have done the same. Hopefully ntl will notice that their poor level of service has alienated their customers.

You've mentioned it three times in this thread already Neil! I will be changing over the same as you did.
BT are reconnecting me on Thursday, and I'll probably be going with the pipex Solo 500 service, with free activation, as I already have my modem and splitter from when I was previously with BTopenworld.
