Re: Security software

Symantec's corporate products are very good, but as has already been said, steer clear of Norton. Just my ... take it or leave it.

The point might be to inform you that there is a virus that cannot be cleaned?

Norton Internet Security has a few inbuilt functions that try to identify viruses that are not yet in the database.

So if the program finds such a Virus it's a good thing to warn and quarantine the offender even if nothing can be done about it yet. In some cases, the next update should bring along a solution.

Personally, I like that the Virus will be found that way.

Re: Security software

sorry for going all silent on you guys, the help was definitely appreciated!

I did get a ready made PC, but not a branded one in the end and I did get it with Norton, too. I was sceptical at first because of what has been said, but I got a good deal so it was worth seeing who was right. Well, all I can say is that it works for me.

And that's why I have yet another question: Symantec is now offering Norton Internet Security 2007. Do you reckon I should upgrade?
