I thought that it was quite funny that with my Sony Ericsson w810i phone it came with a ScanDisc rather then Sony memory stick

You mean Sandisk, and yes that's not too unusual, a lot of providers will give upgraded features of the phones and extra memory is a usual one and it doesn't surprise me that they'd go for the cheaper make

Well it works in my samsung camera!
And for some reason I keep calling it ScanDisk instead of SanDisk!
Best thing to do is look up the spec of your camera online to see if you can find out!

If they don't say anything about a limit then you should be ok!

I think sandisk make the sony ones anyway.
Off topic there was a story in the mail about foxconn and asustek making ipods. Foxx con has a factory with 200,000 working and living there

SanDisk is one of the big names in the storage card arena. Heck, they invented the CompactFlash card in 1994, and worked jointly with Matsu****a (known mostly by the name Panasonic in this country) and Toshiba to develop the SD memory card. Most recently they worked with Sony to develop the new high capacity, high speed Memory Stick PRO cards that will be coming out in 2003. So they're a name you can trust when it comes to Memory Sticks, and you can often find them at major retailers for a few bucks less than Sony brand sticks.

These cards were released in the Spring of 2003, first by Sony and then by San
disk. The Pro cards were a joint development effort between Sony and SanDisk, so you can trust you're getting the same quality that you'll find in the Sony branded Pro cards

Some great advice there - thanks, especially to luvclub - fantastic first post.
If I do go for ebay I'll go Sandisk - I'll keep an eye on the ebay listings and see how trustworthy the UK sellers seem

50% of the time things (especially small things) go through customs without being checked. But, if they decide to check the items the costs involved can be alarming.

If you ask a lot of eBayers will tick the box marked "gift" and you will not get charged import tax.

2GB cards should theoretically work in any SD device, but unfortunately they don't. Like for example my MDA compact PDA/phone which has a SD card slot that only works with just one brand of 2GB SD card (as far as I know). I think it is because they did not follow the SD specificaions to the T.
Higher speed SD cards are more picky with which devices that they work with and you would probably want to get one of these for those large piccies so that you don't have to wait for it to save while you take the next one.
So be careful! It is probably best to google for the model of your camera and the brand of SD card that you would like to purchase and see if anyone else has any good/bad results with that certain combination.
I recommend looking for one of the 150x speed ones. They're not that much more expensive. I have heard good things about the ADATA brand, but recommend you google it in combination with your camera first.
The Sandisk 2GB SD card which was mentioned previously is probably half the speed or even less, but if you want to check compatibility with your camera look on their website linked here
http://www.sandisk.com/Products/Prod...o.aspx?ID=1086
Hope that helps.
