Since when did being honest lose respect? Oh well perhaps they should lie again if admitting that their products are capped buys a few customers but loses the respect of others. Or your English is a bit cack and I've completely misunderstood you.

Unlimited downloads from January?
I just got an email from NTL advertising various broadband things, and it included this:
"Unlimited downloads
From January, your ntl Broadband service will have unlimited downloads, so you can surf the internet for as long as you like. "
Does that mean there will no longer be a cap on downloads from January, or is it some subtle marketing speak that really means there will be restrictions on downloads?

Re: Unlimited downloads from January?
I'm on the 2Mbyte service. But just changed a couple of weeks ago (from 1Mbyte) and the email suggests I'm on the 1Mbyte service. Some more quotes from it ...
"We're improving your broadband service. We're giving you loads of extra value at no extra cost"
"If you upgrade your Broadband service you'll get Broadband Plus at no extra cost. For just £7 more per month you could get twice the speed with our unlimited 2Mb Broadband service and over £30 a month of free online entertainment. Go to www.ntlworld.com/upgrade to upgrade now. "
Email sender is "NTL_Customer_Update@newsletter.ntlworld.com" and it is a "glossy" HTML formatted email with graphics etc so don't think it is spoofed.

Re: Unlimited downloads from January?
The email has this at the top as a link to use if you can't read the email - it gives the same content. Seems to redirect to a marketing agency, but at least starts as a page on ntlworld.com ...

Fair useage policies can vary a huge deal. Some people would say a few gig a day was fair use. Especially at peak times.
Basically. Do what you want. If you rip the a*** out of it we'll be sending the boys round with a crippled 512/64 modem to sort you out.

Scrapping the Cap would make an excellent Chrsitmas present to customers.
Somehow, I'm sensing there is a catch somewhere, we'l just have to wait and see.
