Re: ntlworld email addys.........

Thanks simbr, having written to ntl and got no reply (surprise, surprise), maybe i should approach this from the hotmail angle. I'll try e mailing hotmail tech support.

Re: ntlworld email addys.........

I have now spoken to NTL CS (tech support) twice. The first time i got told that they'd raise a 'hot spot' on this as they have had other complaints about this, gave me a reference number and a number to ring in future (0845 650 0125). I called again this morning and was told that they were aware of the problem and hoping to resolve the problem SOON ??? , and to keep trying.
I also wrote to MSN technical support, and i received an e mail back with a report number on it and these words of help--->
"Our Product Development team is aware of this issue and I assure you that we are working diligently to fix this. In the meantime, please try to send a test e-mail once in a while to your "ntlworld.com" recipient(s) and see if you will no longer receive an error".
So...... i suppose all i can do from here is hope that both sides really are trying to sort the matter out.
If anyone else has the same problem, may i suggest that they do the same as me and hope that with enough complaints, something will be done.

I can only presume that the ntl server in this area (bournemouth) will not accept e mails from hotmail.co.uk.
This has a familiar ring to it, and I suspect that the culprit is Sorbs. My theory is that a relay used to get to you in Bournemouth is on the Sorbs database, and it's NTL policy to silently discard all emails originating from, or routed through, a host registered with Sorbs.

We've had all email from users lycos.co.uk and beeb.net discarded. In one case it turned out to be an intervening demon.co.uk relay that was on the database.

There's another thread on this here:

Just noticed that Simbr has replied similarly.

Re: ntlworld email addys.........

Thanks for all your replies peeps.

Here goes, with what may be a silly question, but ... is there some way that i can send my mail to another ntl server. Paul said in an earlier post, that he sent e mails from his .co.uk addy to his ntlworld one and they got through.

The connection is rejected with error 452, the remote mail server should report this to the sender.
