People keep saying that the extra channels on Sky are all the cr@p shopping channels, etc. Motors TV is an excellent channel that Sky have but NTL don't.

Rillington I too have a BT line & NTL TV because my NTL phone line kept busting. I take heart from the phone line cost in that if I had Sky+ I'd pay the £100 / year warranty fee....so really having NTL cover it for free means the packages are costing me the same!

Re: Why is NTL so slow compared to Sky TV?

i think the beef that most of us have is the same, which is that we look at sky because it is a superior product that we for various reasons cannot have. we are stuck with a platform that originally was the best due to bandwith and technolagy, because of forward thinking from sky it is now the oposite, and we have what seems to be a old outdated clunky unstable system that we are continually told will be fixed ,the great "COMING SOON". for myself i look at it from the point that i can turn the box on and watch the programs i want, it does that as long as thats all you want , i of course wish there was a digital sound output so that i could listen to suround sound for the movies as an example (sky have it on there sky plus boxes)i know i will never get that with NTL as the system isnt up to it i wish i had a PVR but i accept untill i move house i cant get sky plus (and i doubt i will live long enough to see one on NTL) i wish we had interactive sevices but anyone with any brains can see that sky will never realse there's to other platforms and the BBC ones also due to not really being interested in helping.

basicly NTL gives you extra channels and you shoudnt expect more than that as it will never deliver because it isnt up to the job and never will be
