But as we don’t have a hurricane season here, we don’t have the infrastructure to cope with hurricane force storms. So things are going to get a bit hairy over the next 18 hours.

Im sorry Chris.I hope you are all OK thru this bad storm!!

Re: Storm Éowyn
Well despite the doom laden warnings we've only got a light zephyr down here, even the met office charts only show 15MPH breeze.

You’re only under a yellow warning on the south coast. The Met Office uses an impact scale that balances intensity against likelihood, and with a very serious storm coming in off the Atlantic that seems appropriate for areas near it but not in its path.

Re: Storm Éowyn
All the fencing around the still a building site part of our new estate has blown down. Just to the right of picture is a bus stop. Could have been dangerous had people been about. I didn't take the photo. Was by someone in the flats.

Re: Storm Éowyn
I won’t be trying to pick this up any time soon.
It’s full BTW - 6 patio chairs and a metal framed recliner. No mere fart knocked it over.

82mph gusts recorded in the east end of Glasgow a short while ago.

Re: Storm Éowyn
Windy here, but nothing more than previous storms.
GD's play house went for a walk, and the trampoline blew over, thats about it really.

Yes one of those weird days where everyone in the country either gains or loses a trampoline
