What I loved/laughed at about this story was the hushed tones used by some reporters, when they were mentioning his military service, and how he would have a "set of skills" which would help him evade capture.
He was a 21 year old network tech in the Royal Signals, who had joined up at 16 as a "Junior Leader" (who train near us at the Army Foundation College at York), did 23 weeks there (the short course for non-infantry) then did around a year of tech training - he isn't Liam Neeson, with" a particular set of skills"...
