Re: Tivo rebooting

Yeah called 150, and they said it was affecting the Luton and Stevenage areas. Sitting tight and waiting now for it to be fixed.

Makes sense, we're on your Headend here.

I hope whatever is happening doesn't make a habit of itself and can be fixed once and for all.

Re: Tivo rebooting

My box has over the last few days started to randomly reboot itself (did it last night during Rugby ) ... there it goes again just now... then takes about 10 minutes to sort itself out and load up to the TV channel. It's happening on average about every 2hrs now.

I called 150 and have an engineer coming out Monday. I was wondering as one of the early adopters of the TiVo is it now coming to the end of it's lifecycle and is the hard disk failing? This might be a common fault for other customers as time goes on. Anyway hopefully it will be resolved on Monday.

Could be, but there are a couple of other known faults on the early TiVos that can cause rebooting too. Whatever, it'll probably end up being replaced.

There isn't much correlation between hard drive failure and age. Some fail early and just seem to go on and on and on.

(By the way, this is totally unconnected to the other posts in this thread. Those reboots were caused by a software fault which is now fixed)
