I see even New Malden with the 50 Mb/s business service is now using 16QAM for upstream maintenance messaging.

Then there's the analogy that with an increased number of lanes (not referring to channels here) one pothole would have less effect on traffic flow.

The analogy can of course be applied to more upstream channels.

My analogy would simply be the smaller the text, the harder and slower it is to read, especially in low light.
