Re: Just goes to show you Cameron's a loser

I'd rather have more of Cameron than Miliprat running the country even further into debt. That is the Labour governmental cycle. Borrow and spend, borrow and spend. Never thinking about HOW the borrowed money will be paid back.

'Miliprat' - very cutting, Jeremy Paxman watch out !

Actually I think he 's an intelligent guy who you may or may not agree with, but suffers from presentational/image problems (which shouldn't matter, but does in this reality tv /x factor dumbed down society).

Do we really want media savvy/vacuous self interested card board cut outs like Cameron or Blair running the country again ?? One led us into an illegal pointless war, the other is slowly dismantling the health service, whilst and making the poor poorer and the rich richer.

Re: Just goes to show you Cameron's a loser

Surely, fellow members on this forum, doesn't want the country to backwards to the days when rationing was here.

This what Cameron wants, he wants the rich to get richer, and the poor to get poorer.

IF, Cameron gets back in, he has already said that there will be MORE CUTS, he is cutting the Ambulance Service, The police, will be cutting a further 5.000 officers off the streets, the Fire service will be getting cut.

Major Hospitals are closing. Do we all want this. Cameron is always gloating that he is increasing Aid to overseas countries. And yet his OWN people will suffer.

The poor are now getting more and more welfare cuts. And yet, people are saying Don't you think his policies are working.

I have a feeling that between now and election day, we will have stupid MPs and councillors coming to our doors - asking for our vote.

What do you think Dave and Gideon have been doing apart from dragging the country deeper into debt. Fact is any recovery will be inspite of them not because of them, that said I don't blame Dave for not fancying the debates this time round, he saw for himself last time that there is next to nothing for the pm to gain from them and everything for his adversaries to.

Re: Just goes to show you Cameron's a loser

But Arthur, not so long ago Labour were saying they agreed with the Tories and that they would make cuts if elected. Apart from a few extreme cases, I don't seriously think this country is anywhere near rationing like it was back during the War.

Neither - taxes on everyone else is I think his preferred option. Arthur's the product of Labour - quite possibly a budding front bench spokespersonmanwomanthing - what else do you expect? One day he might stop whining about just about everything, take responsibility for his own actions and cease expecting everyone else to look after him and his. That'll be the day he constructs and presents a cogent argument...

As you have been told many times it's nonsense to claim we pay more tax than any other country...

...we are actually below the G20 average now.

I see we're back to usual form though:

I had forgotten, taxes are fine when it's someone else paying them and they are being used to look after you and your family.

I'm trying to think of the word for someone who thinks others should subsidise their quality of life but can't quite place it.

I could answer this in depth but I'm interested in whether or not Arthur will comment fully.

There are many quite factual reasons to disagree strongly with this statement. See if it reverts to 'Evil Tories.....'

Of course it is. DC doesn't want the debates to happen at all if he can help it - he has nothing to gain.

If he can get the Greens in it's purely for political reasons - if they have a good showing it will hurt Labour and split their vote, thus reducing the impact of UKIP on his vote.

As it is he's been told that if he doesn't want to do the debates at least one of them will happen with an empty chair in his place. These debates increase public engagement and are an important part of the democratic process now.

Just in the name of balance you do know that Labour are going to be cutting as well if they get power, right?

Balls reaffirms Labour's commitment to cuts in 2015.

Despite what labour luvies think they (the condems) have done, considering where labour left the country in 2010 they have done a reasonable job digging us out of the hole.

And Arthur, same crap different day, nothing changes with you, I admire your tenacity, your like a dog with 2 dicks where anything to do with the conservative are concerned.
You are the pit bull of cable forum, you got your teeth into something, latched on and you won't let go even tho people point out where your comments and information are flawed.

This nonsense again.

I suggest you actually take a look at the latest budget figures for this country. If I had a quid for every time you mention the overseas development budget yet ignore the fact that even if every penny was spent on say, the NHS would still only receive the same level of funding as a share of GDP as 2009. That would ignore the deficit, education, and every other service cut since 2010.

The budget hasn't been balanced for a while, especially since the global financial crisis and cuts were needed. The argument of Lab vs Con isn't whether cuts are still needed, just where they cut.

Asking a loaded question like you did at the start will not work, we wont be returning to rationing unless if WW 3 broke out. Now, are we still in line for pretty heavy cuts to the public service, yes. Does it suck? Yes. The only way to avoid that is paying more taxes, which as Igni pointed out, as a share of GDP the UK pays less tax than average now in the G20.

So, more taxes, or more austerity, what would you prefer? If only Lab were brave enough to actually come out and say that.

They actually have - more austerity from them, too. They're aiming to only borrow for capital expenditure while balancing the current budget.

Hoping everyone turns out to vote but expecting the usual third of the voting population being too apathetic to actually bother and we get another coalition of sorts..All bets are off on the actual parties concerned but it will be interesting.
What is certain is that we have too many weeks of really stupid personalised attacks on candidates.
