By my calculation, there are 2881 homes and 3 ONs. So that's 960 HPPN which stacks up with part of what you've said..
The southern part of the parish has 1196 homes and 1 optical node. So that stacks up.
The area is due for a reseg imminently, BTW. I don't know where you got your 598 HPPN.
It was "floated" as a result of splitting 1196 between 2 nodes but that was only based on the half an explanation I originally received. Now we've moved on and you've kindly filled in the rest of the jigsaw it's no longer relevant!
It can now be ABEly flushed down the pan to join my other floaters....
