Quite a lot more than inflation at 2.7%.
Crap for customers, good for shareholders. Reminds me of the energy business

Re: 6.7% Price Increase From February!
I received my letter today.
I hope that 6.7% increase goes towards fixing the area faults that stuff my connection up on a regular basis... or it'll be off to FTTC next Spring.

Re: 6.7% Price Increase From February!
I spoke to the online chat team to see what they could do for me in terms of reducing my package ; even with the price rise I'd begin to struggle so don't want to go there.
I pay £97 for ;
120meg Broadband
4 TiVo subscriptions
Talk Weekends
Caller Display
They offered
Deal 1
60 meg Broadband
L TV with 4 TiVo boxes
Talk Weekends
Caller Display
£88.49
Deal 2
60 meg Broadband
M+ TV with 4 TiVo boxes
Talk Weekends
Caller Display
£80.20
What do you think?
FTTC is available here next month so really don't want to need to go elsewhere :/

You obviously watch a lot of TV. you don't need a fast connection unless you know how to use it.
I've never seen the fascination in loads of TV channels. Freeview is good enough for a lot of people.

Re: 6.7% Price Increase From February!
AT one time it seemed the "Norm" to get good deals from retentions on your existing package. The "Norm" now appears to be just achieving reductions by reducing the level of service. I strongly expect that the addition of new channels and stuff like BT Sport plus the cost of the "double" speed free provision has severley increased VM's costs and hence willingness to accept reductions in revenue from the existing packages.
I had the VIP50 (now VIP100) collection and when I went to them was only offered £7 / month reduction against downgrading to 60 meg. The list price difference was £7-50 so no reduction at all in essence.
Suffice to say I ended up going to sky for a deal including Sky TV plus extra, sky movies and sport, multiscreen and Sky phone with anytime calls for £67.90/month for a year including line rental. So even retaining 120 meg broadband (got sky basic included but insufficient for my needs) total cost was £105.40 compared to £116.20 for VM only.
This is the price we are paying for the upgrading of the TV content & BB improvements

l am afraid price rises are a fact of life and as l always say if people are unhappy then vote with your feet but remember the grass is usually not that greener on the other side of the fence.

Who needs TV channels? Watch programmes when you want. I haven't watched channels or adverts in years.

Actually free view is crap. I'm currently watching it and the choice is lousy. Not a patch on the VM xl TV package.

You sound like you're selling it when you mention XL and not M
Everybody knows SKY TV beats all.
TV is all repeat, repeat, repeat anyway.

Re: 6.7% Price Increase From February!
I don't use the phone or watch the V-Box/HD, I'll be phoning them soon to cancel, I'll just keep the BB.
I predict there'll be a large increase in the sale of other, certain types of sat-box then.
