same here ,i did that last year and was dreading losing my 100mg ,v+ multiroom ,but after a bit of time and getting Anytime + through BT home hub the only thing we miss is the 2 tuner v+ .If sky wanted to steal more tv customers then getting a new STB with multiple tuners would be a distinct step in the right direction .For a company that concentrates it's market on TV provision i am surprised they haven't upgraded the STB already because even with the reported poor performance of tivo it is still a far better stb in that respect than sky's

Re: What would it take for you to move to Sky?
Moved to Sky in January for the programming on Sky Atlantic (Game of Thrones, Boardwalk, Borgias) and other than the tuner issue popping up now and again when some things clash I have not regretted it one bit.
I too, like the guy earlier, am content with Sky in SD as the picture quality of SD is far better than with VM.

The best STB by a country mile questionable , sorry do you mean V+ !!!
Huge OD libriary When we look ( not very often its painful)
Functionality really
Operability and reliability questionable
Recording capacity TRUE
Number of tuners TRUE
Supplemental content That can go. Then moving around box would be simpler
Faster broadband VERY true
No ESPN fee Do not care
HD at no extra cost Do not care
Cheaper multiroom subscription Do not see point (Two boxes have it covered )
No repair fees Great Plus
More enhanced GUI Sorry whats that !
Multiroom streaming sometime soon

coming soon really again don`t care

In fact I would be very easy to please.
Lots of the rubbish on TiVo I just avoid ( I question why o why anyone wants the like of hangman but there you go) Still not a real problem.
To make me happy
ignoring cutting the cost
"real" red button & reminders. Is that really to much to ask for.

Re: What would it take for you to move to Sky?
I love these threads ,it takes about 3 posts to descend into a "mine is better than yours" playground squabble
My tv is turned off at the moment ,i could trawl through hours of on demand content on Anytime + but the truth be known i just can't be bothered because it's just not that important .Having been on both providers in the last year my assessment is ...MEH... as long as the other half gets her programs and keeps off my back i don't give a hoot who puts corrie street in the black box in the corner

Re: What would it take for you to move to Sky?
As the poster above has rightly stated, this has descended (with a few exceptions) into a "mine is better than yours" whinge-fest - can we try to keep on topic, and state what would get you to move to Sky, please?

Sorry but just have to add the word "soon " to this .
In answer to the question ( again) I would say
Faster BB , no land line requirement, lower price ( to including repairs) Would attract me

Re: What would it take for you to move to Sky?
Sky World and multi-room and Sky Fibre with at least 40Mbps down and 10Mbps up for under £30 p/m all in with free installation
They offer me that, and I'm sold

Re: What would it take for you to move to Sky?
An apology from Sky given the atrocious CS we experienced. We had Sky TV but internet and phone with TalkTalk. After 16 months of Sky, and no real problems at that point, we started getting green TV, (not the environmentally friendly version). Called CS first, followed by Tech to be told that i have a defective HDMI cable. Really not impressed. Upshot was £65 for an engineer callout and £199 for a replacement Sky+ HD box.

This has got to be a major selling( sorry renting is a better word as we NEVER buy a TiVo box) point for Virgin. Mind you it did not help Radio Rentals in the long run

Re: What would it take for you to move to Sky?
Sky shot themselves in the foot with regards to us. I doubt that it made a huge dent in their balance sheet. I just thought it was very unsympathetic and condescending.

We are talking about a business are we not. Never come across one that is, in the round , sympathetic or caring ( except about the bottom line )

Oh well, onwards and upwards,at least as far as we're concerned. VM are by no means perfect, however they are sympathetic.
