I dont know how easy it is
so did google search hit gem yes car does need conversion kit however there is something interesting.
http://www.vegoilmotoring.com/eng/
This was interesting for those with diesel so it can be done without conversion the following quote says how.
Reading more info on this web you are allowed 2500 litres threshold but more you pay 13/14p per litre. Say your not going over found to you pay on the whole lot including first 2500. How they find out is god knows would assume they ask details of milage make of car. You have to submit this info.

Mixing diesel & SVO
Is it possible just to blend vegetable oil with diesel and use this in an unconverted engine?
We get asked this question so often that we have devoted this page to it to try and prevent the huge volumes of emails we get asking this question.
Veg Oil Motoring does not advocate using SVO in unconverted engines, for the reasons mentioned below, therefore please do not email us regarding this.
Our line is that there is probably a blend of SVO and diesel that will function in diesel engines without causing long term damage. This blend will vary between the many different diesel engines on the market and therefore we cannot say for each particular engine whether this is 20% or 0.2% blend of SVO to diesel, as few reliable trials have been completed. For this reason Veg Oil Motoring cannot recommend a blend, and vehicle owners trying this method of using SVO do so at their own risk. The risk to other road users should be considered as well. It is important to be aware that this approach is more likely to cause problems with direct injection engines and engines with the unsuitable fuel injection pumps mentioned else where on the site.

sad to hear it just shows the impact its causing.
Did anyone hear the expert on beeb saying its going to get alot worse would not be suprised £1.60 by year end and likely push us into recession .
Martyh Ithat mixing does sound rsky if you get the thing wrong. Should put health warning try it at your own risk.
Wonder how much the conversion.
I wondered in past going LPG the cost converting was too expensive. Plus lack LPG points.
The alternative I have seen promising is hydro gen cars they more impulse drive than electric.
The other is compressed air car.

nice idea but has some these alternative patents bought up by OPEC.
The are car is very good one for town driving in future.
Aparantly this could be close to perpetual motion.
Vid on here shows they also invented compress air generator which runs on compressed air
2.38 on this vid

How far is this from being pratical vehicle weight restrictions?. First said they had build it with weight in mind so it must have capacity which short off normal transit.
I knew they was going to be sold in india would nice to see the price point and sales if its out there now.

Amazes me that they keep putting up the duty, knowing people are struggling, not just now, but well, since the econonomic crisis started
So why are they doing it?
I don't drive myself, but my mum does and she'd had to give up her part time job, because it costs to much in petrol and isn't worth the money anymore.

Someone on another Forum I use says that there is going to be a fuel blockade over the Easter weekend. Asked him where he saw this reported, as I have found nothing on Google or anywhere. Might just be trying to scare people.
Hope it doesn't affect public transport if there is a blockade.

Re: Petrol hits whopping 140.20 unleaded before 3p increase in august1st
I think what has to happen is the Haulage companies and tanker drivers have to join forces and go on all out strike.
The driver gets hit all the time when there is a budget. Hauliers have to make money but are going to be killed off by the prices of petrol and diesel cost, we end up paying in the end by the cost in the shops.
I don't want to say this but the miners crippled this country by going on strike and it hit the country hard.
I as a motorist am sick to death of this government increasing fuel prices to fund there own pockets in tax.
When you go into garages you get ripped off twice, one by the franchiser and the other by the government in tax.

Nothing to do with oil increasing from $108 per barrel in January to over $125 now, then?

would not be suprised to be fair.
AdamD this all smoke dangers to supposedly save our planet from pollution. Problem alot these taxes have been tax too far crippled economies. Society cant live without the black stuff.
Until those alternative like the air car hydro gen go mainstream where 70% drivers use them we will stop rely on fossil fuel.
Dont believe electric is viable long term due to its not impulse car got to charge over night. Costs electric to individual and to nation with where is the electric to come from.

Re: Petrol hits whopping 140.20 unleaded before 3p increase in august1st
Some forecourts will put their prices up just because of the fact that we're expecting it.
it's going to be another episode where it will be going up a penny every other day because they know we're expecting it.
then you have the garages that are 5p cheaper than the other one. which just tells you that a lot of them are just putting the prices up because they know we're talking about it, and they know we're expecting it.

I think this happened last time too.
blockades of refineries I bet wont make mistakes next time when the shut them down. They never knew lincolnshire made alot of our petrol.
If they shut hemel hemstead too as its got direct pipe down there remember the fire had to shut the link pipe. Lindsey produces 223,000 barrells per day. Conoco 221,000 barrels per day.
Lindsey third largest refinery and conoco 4th. you can see where maximum damage could be done in blockade.
- Lindsey Oil Refinery, (Total), 223,000 bbl/d (35,500 m3/d)
- Milford Haven Refinery, (Murco), 140,000 bbl/d (22,000 m3/d)
- Pembroke Refinery, (Valero Energy), 220,000 bbl/d (35,000 m3/d)
- Stanlow Refinery, (Essar Energy), 272,000 bbl/d (43,200 m3/d)[8]
- Teesside Refinery, (Petroplus), 117,000 bbl/d (18,600 m3/d)
- Fawley Southampton Refinery, (ExxonMobil), 347,000 bbl/d (55,200 m3/d)
- Humber Refinery, (ConocoPhillips), 221,000 bbl/d (35,100 m3/d)
- Coryton Refinery, (Petroplus), 208,000 bbl/d (33,100 m3/d)
- Grangemouth Refinery, (Ineos), 205,000 bbl/d (32,600 m3/d)
Its was only after shutting the humber was fuel blockade took grip as combined both refineries its the biggest place where oil refined.
For some reason that blockade left the humber refineries alone for days attacked smaller refineries first like grangemouth, milford haven, pembroke, teeside. I dont think they will make that mistake again especially with that fire that there is link to hemel hemstead via big pipe to humber.

thats true hydrogen does need to be made not saying it dont. Its at present best alternative to fossil fuels as pointed out electric by far its not possible due to electric issue.
The air car is the most interesting as it potential to be perpetual motion
You did watch the second vid they alread designed a compressed air generator which works on guess what compressed air. It dont need electric it works on AIR. Its compressing the air then running on that compressed air.
If the compressor makes EXCESS compressed air enough to drive the Air Car we then have car which dont need ANY fuel top up anywhere. It litarally go and go No wind to drive it no sun to drive it. You simply literally never need to stop.
Now that would be impressive the other advances would be sure is kinetics energy where simply bumps drive energy would be re-fill as source to be tapped fill batteries. We already seeing devices which you shake to provide energy to run it. Ad the technology to cars it would reduce times for recharging.
I dont think we ever fully rely on black stuff we will break the shackles how many years it will take fully viable alternative which dont rely on masses nuclear plants time will tell.

Re: Petrol hits whopping 140.20 unleaded before 3p increase in august1st
What I find galling & in some ways profiteering by forecourts & the refiners.
Last May 2011, Brent crude was at about $128pb (per barrel) Today\this week its around $125pb. May last year I was paying 135.9p per litre. Today I am paying 142.9ppl.
So as there have been no increases in VAT or duty on fuel in the last 9 months how can the cost's have increased?
Between May 2011 & Dec 2011 the cost pb dropped to below $105, but the forecourts only dropped the litre price by 1.9p to around 133-4ppl.
So pb was down 17.5% but forecourt price only went down by 1.6%.
Something smells a little bit fishy me thinks & then adding on 3.03ppl + vat is a SMACK in the face for anyone who uses a vehicle be it SDP, commute or for work.

spot on increases down to crude oil yet decreases never come back to real terms of price of barrel.
Now the excuse is unsettled tensions between iran/isreal.
Middle east have always been in conflicts or tensions why now is used as excuse to justify prices.
Now the one do accept which possible cause is rise of other markets putting pressure on prices but if crude oil prices dropped then parity should been done in forecourt s in uk.
That means the problem elsewhere not middle-east
Finger should be at the refineries making killing in uk. Shell prfits went to 18bn despite missing targets of refining.
http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/m...18bn-2011.html
Although governments equally to blame for there taxation policies over the years.
I think we could drive the economy forward if we dropped 20p off fuel.
