Re: OFCOM Broadband Survey Results November 2011
This clearly shows how good broadband through copper lines can be, with an average of 36Mb i think thats great. This also shows that VM really need to start bumping up their upload speeds as BT is about to start offering 20Mb upload speeds this will send VM in the slow lane.

Got to love the less than subtle double smear tactic.....

"Plagurising"?
Anyway, I've been on here for a while so I know sirius works for VM.
Its common knowledge about the Samknows funding just type it into google.
The question about do VM have a say in who gets a samknows box is genuine.

I think you need to get the story right mate.

Virgin Media is to become the first ISP to use SamKnows’ broadband performance testing technology to discover the speed, quality and reliability of the service it offers to customers.
The SamKnows technology is already being used by Ofcom to monitor broadband performance across the country but this is the first time an ISP has opted to use the technology to monitor its own service. The results from the SamKnows performance network are used by Ofcom to reveal the state of the nation’s broadband experience and feature in the watchdog’s analysis and Broadband Code of Practice.

“Virgin Media’s reputation is built on the quality of our products and we’re committed to improving our customers’ broadband experience in every way possible,” he said.
“We made the decision to employ one of the UK’s leading independent broadband testing experts to ensure that we are able to continue to lead the market for broadband. The superior reliability and accuracy of its data make it an ideal partner to help us fine-tune and improve the products we offer our customers.”
Virgin Media customer interested in joining the performance trial can register online, with full details at

BTW grow up and stop trying to smear staff members and the company they work for. I would have dealt with this as a rep point but you hide that from us don't you and i wonder why. So i decided to make this public

Pre-screening - they ask you to submit some info before accepting your application, I believe a few example speedtests are part of that lot. This is all second-hand information mind you, I've never applied myself. There are certain people on this forum who have applied several times though and got rejected as their speeds were to slow or something (because of congestion)

Absolutely no smearing at all!
I was just stating facts, you DO work for Virginmedia, Virginmedia DO give funding to Sam-Knows. If stating a fact is now classed as smearing this place is getting ridiculous.
I happen to think Virginmedia offer a great service to the customers that are happy with them. I always hit 50Mb on my service (well 90%) of the time. But I find it awful for gaming and youtube. But then if you have seen the pictures of the cabinet I'm connected then you wouldn't be surprised.
