Why can't the government tax CEO's at a higher rate of tax insted, and I feel that there are some CEO's who deserve to be paid a lot, but most do not!

Well as Robert Peston pointed out most shareholders may not care about this issue because they may only own shares short term before they sell them on.

If they have done a very good job then its ok, but they need to taxed fairly for the rest of us!

since you seem to be advocating a 75% tax rate in another thread there wouldn't be a fat lot left .
More tax means less incentive to work so what incentive to work would you offer?

even if we do tax them at 75% then they still will have a quite a lot, surly £250,000 to £4 million a year after tax is reasonable enough for a lot of people!

The rich and from major companies, but if they are earning million, then I do not see a need, The Rich, The Very Rich, Major Companies and top Management (which includes CEO's) at the end of they day have to get used to less money at the bank, but they would still have a lot of money at the bank as well, just not as much!
