My router hasnt got a usb port, its only got ethernet cabke ports. Dont understand why u say its the wrong router coz its wifi

Okay so how you connect to the internet from reading your posts it looks like either a dongle or through btfon which as far as i know is just a shared wireless link and on either scenario you would have to setup internet sharing on the laptop or desktop and that connects to the router via Ethernet and then have the traffic go via the router itself.
In fairness it might be easier just to get a proper broadband line instead of dongles
