They do travel, they travel to the nearest scrap metal yard with the metal they FIND lying in the street , They travel to peoples houses to lay dodgy drives with a 1mm layer of tarmac.

Police searching for a body at a farm raided in an anti-slavery operation have appealed for the author of an anonymous letter to come forward, saying it could be "vital".

Specialist officers are excavating the site at Marshfield, near Newport.

Four people - three men and a woman - are being held after raids in Cardiff, Monmouthshire and Marshfield on Monday.

Operation Imperial is looking at claims people were kept in poor conditions and forced to work for no pay.

This mob are a lawless bunch, an associate from one of the classic car clubs I attend lives in that area. He claims that some of the liberal residents pander to them and are friendly with them because they are very much afraid of them, they do it in the hope that they will ee them as friends and not rob them or be violent to them.

I also provoked a look of horror from a keen cyclist in work when I mentioned that I was going to use the cycle route to Cardiff that passes this camp. (On this occasion it wasn't because I don't look that fit)

He told me that his local cycle club in Cardiff warns members not to cycle along that route because these 'Stay Putters' have on more than one occasion physically attacked cyclists on the road outside the camp and stolen their bicycles.

Three women rescued from a house after allegedly being held as slaves for 30 years were kept in "horrific conditions", a charity has said.

Freedom Charity said it had been called by a woman who said she and two others were being held in south London.

A Malaysian woman, 69, an Irish woman, 57, and a Briton, 30, were rescued on 25 October, it emerged on Thursday.

A 67-year-old man and woman, understood to be married, were arrested in Lambeth and later bailed until January.

I think there's something not right about the recent one in London, I mean how did they manage all of a sudden to use a phone to get in touch with the charity who informed the Police? Why didn't they manage to do it years ago? To top it all off the people have been released on bail.

They were allowed certain limited freedoms IIRC but no doubt felt totally controlled by their captors having lived in that manner for 30 years. We have no idea if they were effectively 'brainwashed' or just paralysed by fear due to threats to themselves or their extended families for example. I heard the woman from the charity who rescued them say that, IIRC, the only reason they found out was that one of the women heard about them on TV/radio and eventually plucked up the courage to call. Even so, apparently, it took some weeks before she felt able to fully open up about what had been going on and for arrangements to be made to free them.
