Well there is no pleasing some people who expect there will be no bugs or updates but there are bugs on some boxes 5 years after they released and yes tivo is the future for Virgin and will in time replace all their other boxes.

You are 100% correct about new products and bugs , where I disagree with your comment is people delaying the inevitable. It is totally inexcusable to launch a box with no BBC red button a service what's been around for ages , it also launched with no PPV facility , no reminders , lack of ability to start a programme at a defined point and SD PQ problems. When these features are added maybe it will become a no brainer for people.

Well l think thats being a bit harsh to say its inexcusable for the tivo to launch without these functions because as we know that all or most of these things will be added to the tivo in the near future and also have not Sky launched boxes with certain fuctions not on there when they launched their new boxes.

Den its not harsh at all , they are basic things. TIVO is a nice piece of kit and some of its advanced features are excellent however for many it will not be the finished object until these basic features are added.

Re: Getting rid?
I would much rather have the service now and have features
added latter.
Red button hardly ever used it
Live PPV never used
Reminders never used them
The only big negative is the SD picture quality and at least they have identified the problem and have a fix in the works.

Yes valid point , however I'm pointing out to mlazyell why many won't upgrade.

And these things will be added in the near future thus making the tivo even better then it currently is.

In my view it was very wrong not to tell people red button was missing but not wrong to launch it. Many people don't care that it's missing or can access it via the TV if they want to.
Same goes for PPV, now fixed; they should have told people, but many people don't use it.
But they should not have stopped the launch.
But, launching with no reminders; well, that is just dispicable!

LOL
Once all the features listed are added , V+ will then become a distant memory for many.

Re: Getting rid?
I hate my V+ box (relegated to the bedroom), Love the Tivo, wouldn't go back and certainly wouldn't swap it for a Sky box!

Re: Getting rid?
At the moment I am happy with my Samsung V+ box, but the biggest limitation for me is the size of the hard drive to store HD recordings, you have to continuously watch/delete the shows before the drive gets full!
I need to defend myself about the inevitable comment, I am stating VM Cindy Rose to get very TV customer onto TiVo in the near future http://m.paidcontent.co.uk/article/4...-tv-explosion/

I agree with this, having had a Tivo for 3 weeks I'm glad I could return it and get my activation fee refunded.
If I ever have a VM Tivo in furture it will be at VM's cost not mine. So bassically I will wait till they're free. Then consider my options.
