Re: Will you take TIVO one the email that you got today?

Unfortunatly it was the £40 installation fee that put me off. £149 activation I could have stretched to but the £40 installation fee on top of the £3 monthly fee just took it too far. I'll stick with what I've got for now.

I'm assuming all people voting are pre-regers as the vote is aimed at people who received the e-mail from Virgin today. Anyone who didn't receive the e-mail shouldn't really be voting, unless they like messing with voting polls

I think it's interesting enough to leave, it's clear that the "yes" camp is the minority even if you take "considering" as yes. Keep going people!

Re: Will you take TIVO one the email that you got today?

no
I did originally intend to, as want the extra storage, but as I only upgraded from normal Pace box, to Samsung V+ HD box a few months ago, it's too much extra money to spend too soon after paying for the HD box activation etc.

I think it would be utterly astounding if more than 50% of pre-regers (plus stragglers) for any similar consumer product would actually buy. There has to be a very large % of people signing up just not to miss out on something that might be free. It was never going to be free, so it's unsurprising a lot of people won't follow up their pre-reg interest.

I suspect VM will be happy enough.

Re: Will you take TIVO one the email that you got today?

Are Virgin seriously expecting people to pay £199.95 + £40 installation for this?

Good job they sent out the emails today, and not tomorrow........

Re: Will you take TIVO one the email that you got today?

Like others have said earlier, although 40pounds isn't a lot of money.
When it's lumped on top of the activation charge, that to me is a lot of money.

Maybe the activation charge could be spread out, thus paying the activation + installation charges over say 6months?

Does anyone know if this price for new customers includes HD activation?

Thats the post I was waiting for, As they would be able to spread it over the 12 month contract E.G. £149+£40 = £189 and then divided by 12 months = £15.75 pm or as you say £149 up-front and then £40 divided by 12 month with a £1/2 surcharge for this?

Sky are expecting people to pay £250 for a 1TB hard drive with no additional functionality over free Sky+HD box, that's even crazier!
