How do I discover the network key for my VM router?

hi you will be sick of me soon right we had an old netgear router with a network key which was a long number with letters i wrote it down which we wrote down when our brother in law came or our grandson it said put your passkey or network key in it would not connect and this was the trouble we had
we have bought a new router wg614 v9 dont know how they set the new one up.

my husband and i tried to reset the old router once and we put admin and password in and it change password and usename so we did and then could not get in with them either

i now on the new router have to put in 192.168.1.1 it goes on to the box and as far as i no we put in admin and password which we have done but it wont let me get on to the netgear page reset different things.

dont worry will just have to leave it as when we first had the new router we tried toset it up and thought we had but it did not work. so that is why we got someone else to help

we could do with someone to walk us through this anyway thanks for your help much appreciated.
