Re: [MERGED] Sir Norman Wisdom - RIP
When he received his knighthood as he was walking away he did his trademark stumble and it got a smile from the queen.

Re: [MERGED] Sir Norman Wisdom - RIP
I didn't intend to reply again or give a linky
but this is for any young 'uns who don't know, but might like to, and for those that do
Here's bit and it is part 1-of-several explains the guy pretty well I think: including the knighthood, trademark trip (Homer ) and a lot more.

A shining example.

Re: R.I.P Sir Norman Wisdom has died
He was a unique entertainer, one of a kind with a simple sense of humour.I just heard on the news about how he became old fashioned and no one wanted slapstick clowns anymore and wanted more sophisticated comedians..
I'm left wondering why people and me still laugh at Norman Wisdom films though? And why my favourite modern day comic Lee Evans has so much in common with him?
No Norman has left us all laughing at times..I found myself giggling at the link Caff provided and I can only say Thank You to a great comic who used no swearing and never needed to use abusive humour to make people laugh.
RIP Norman.

Re: R.I.P Sir Norman Wisdom has died
His passing is very sad, but he had a long, rich, full life and entertained millions.
That is very much worth celebrating and nothing will change it, so I'll keep a smile going

Re: R.I.P Sir Norman Wisdom has died
Sir Norman was Charlie Chaplin's favourite clown and for me that says it all. He was not only a wonderful comedian but also a great actor. A great loss to the world - we'll never see his like again. Condolences to his family.

Re: R.I.P Sir Norman Wisdom has died
I'm going to say it.....his films were SO cringingly awful that they're actually quite good, if you know what I mean.

They were in the best tradition of British slapstick.. and when it's good and well timed you can't help but laugh.
