Prescott accepts EXPENSES

Yes I know it's the Sun so it's almost certainly total rubbish but I couldn't resist:

Quote:
JOHN Prescott has claimed nearly £800 a day in House of Lords expenses, it emerged yesterday.

The former Deputy PM - seen boxing in TV ads for a website - spent 13 working days in the Lords between getting ennobled on July 8 and the end of September last year.

In that period, he claimed £10,016 - or £770 a day, figures published by Parliament show. Half the claims were for office costs.

Nearly £2,500 was for "overnight subsistence", which is £121.50 a day.

A further £1,125 was for "day subsistence", which covers meals and travel to and from work - worth £90.50 a day.
Now I was under the impression that, after a lifetime of opposing the 'other place', he only accepted his peerage to please his wife. Expenses were clearly nothing whatsoever to do with it then...

Re: Prescott accepts peerage

If you're going to berate someone it helps to be in the same room.
