Re: Internet Explorer 8

Have used internet banking for years on Internet Explorer, using the latest current version. Never had a security problem. I have Microsoft updates enabled so always have latest security patches.

For a time used Firefox but some things don't work properly on it. I use Gmail and find it very complicated downloading attachments with Firefox - dead easy with IE.

Why do people knock Microsoft so much? Their range of free software is amazing. For example, I devise several ASP.NET websites and being able to download FREE the excellent Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 Express is a big, big money saver.

Re: Internet Explorer 8

Well, I liked I.E. 8 on my laptop (installed 9th June) and have now also installed on my desktop.

I like the InPrivate filtering, wish it could be turned on permanently, having to remember to turn it on each time I.E. is opened is a bit of a pain.

Some really nice features in I.E.8

You can do this Church Mouse,
Just right click anywhere on your Desktop and select New->Shortcut-> put in the box for the location of the item "%ProgramFiles%\Internet Explorer\iexplore" -private then click next. Give it a name like IEPrivate or anything and Finish.
Double click new shortcut and you start InPrivate

Re: Internet Explorer 8

Thanks Matty

I would like Inprivate filtering to start automatically when I open I.E rather than having to remember to start it up manually.

Perhaps that can't be done.

Thanks anyway.

Re: Internet Explorer 8

Matty just gave you instructions for it to start inprivate using a custom shortcut. Follow what he has written for you above. It is exactly what you are asking for
