Re: Virgin Media Forum "closed for maintenance"
That place is like hell. It's constant battles with "customers" no matter how hard you try to help, they wear and are down right horrid. The palce is too loosley moderated, VM staff don't help at all. Well, a small few try but they dont do much. As for the "head of the forum" hes about as usefull as a chocolate fire guard.
I reccomend Vm to everyone. Theres always going to be issues, it's the way "customers" moan, like it's the end of the world.

No surprises there then, without doubt a waste of time if the members are allowed to run wild like you say then it will no doubt end up closing down.

Re: Virgin Media Forum "closed for maintenance"
I have no real problem there, just a case of remembering that it's Virgin that people are upset with, and to keep posts directed and constructive. Most people there tend to have already been through the first line 'support' so have to be somewhat careful not to patronise or waste time.
I appear, say my piece, pop a few constructive suggestions on a few threads, and disappear again.
It is largely a complete waste of time though until Virgin start to offer some more support on there directly from staff. People go on there expecting to receive assistance and answers from VM and are somewhat disappointed when it's largely not forthcoming.

Agreed. There is only so much we as "helpers" could do. Plus, customers took their frustrations out on each other and it's like world war 3 sometimes. Very hard to keep your tounge behind your teeth.
I think, VM needs to step it up a bit. For example, the Talk Talk forum, is a good service. Theres 10 tech's on there fault finding and diagnoising and fixing there.

Forum closed? - I'm getting "bad request" from www.virginmedia.com as well, or is it just me?

Re: Virgin Media Forum "closed for maintenance"
sad, but I also gave up on that forum... it really needs more mods and to be worked like the VM newsgroups are.
The place is horrible...

Re: Virgin Media Forum "closed for maintenance"
I found myself getting very depressed by the atmosphere over there and kept wanting to tell people to come over to this forum for some proper help, so I stopped visiting in case the temptation became to hard to suppress.
It's a shame because VM could really have made a difference if they had had a more proactive approach to it's customers problems.

Yeah, but if you did have problems then you may actually think that VM isn't fine.
Your obviously going to think that VM is fine being that you have no problems.
