I've got a similar problem here .. medway area .. it's most noticeable on ITV3 and seems to occur on a regular cycle of x minutes .. this varies wildly though .. sometimes every 3/4 , sometimes every 9/10 minutes. I've never really measured the frequency though I admit.

The odd thing is it happens on freeview reception too, but much worse .. this is a Sony DVD recorder. So it's obviously something external that's affecting everything.

I've no idea what it could be though ..

another thing to check were the cable enters your wall have they put an isolator on the wall box fitted to the wall whthe a large rectangular thing in it wich is to prevent lightning damage but also stops electrical interfearance i have found while installing they should make shure there the new types as well just one output in the middle of it and think its red text on the isolator if the cable comes straight in the wall and then in to the box you probably need the isolators to stop feedback off your mains and any other customers down the road that dont have thyem fitted in
