Re: Cannot upload to ntlworld webspace

I have the same problem - get permission denied (550) when trying to delete/replace files on website, or upload new files.

Any suggestions?

Re: Cannot upload to ntlworld webspace

The permissions error is down to system migration. The way the information is held has been change (for the better) sadly with upgrades come problems.

You can post on the newsgroups or call up and log the fault, its a very quick fix depending on the availability of the teams.

I have the same permissions problem. I called tech support who told me that they did not support web space and gave me a premium rate number (£1/min) to call.

Well kinda, 1st line pass it to 2nd line or over to another department to raise it to IT.

I think 1st line can raise things themselves now though .. ask Moldova he is current one of the support guys.

This has been going on for a number of weeks. There's a thread on 'My Virgin Media' called 'Can't Upload to NTL' . Customer support have promised me it will be remedied '...in a few hours...' numerous times over the past month.

Its the lies wot grind ya down...

All sorted!

2nd level support have indeed rectified the problem. If you are getting the "error 550 - permission denied" message then you will need to keep at them to change the security settings at thier end.

Re: Cannot upload to ntlworld webspace 550

Unable to upload to my webspace using any software.

Havent tried for a few months, was working fine before, but although no settings have changed I cannot upload files.

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/kenshinkai/

Can view files in ftp but on attempts to replace/delete/modify always get a 550 permission denied error.

On googling I find that this is a common problem with ntlworld webspace which is a fault with virgin media, and is only being fixed when people complain even though it effects 10s of users :-(

Unless anyone else has a fix for this?

Re: Cannot upload to ntlworld webspace

There is no fix for this locally, you have to contact VM. It happened to a friend of mine, and only when she dealt with someone who could raise it as a fault internally with VM did it get sorted.

You could try posting a complaint here.
