On my Webstar modem when going to http://192.168.100.1, I've only recently started getting the:

"This feature is not enabled.
This feature has not been enabled in your cable modem."

on the Signal / Status / Log menu items. :/

Not really botherd ATM, since my broadband's working as expected, but out of curiosity I used the default password on the access level page and the log shows

Improper Configuration File CVC Format

The is no password required on the Webstar modems or Motorola modems, passwords were an NTL foible on their modems, Telewest never used them up till the Ambit 256.

My Motorola modem gives me full access to all pages.

I would advise you to call Tech Support as the should be no password used to access the Webstar modem as that is something I have not heard of and I should know check my sig below.

Re: modem config

I hope that this isn't the start of "lets hide the configs", because sometimes when people upgrade, the modem doesn't accept the upgraded config file first time round (as was the case for me some months ago), and the only way people realise, is by checking the config.

Without the ability to check the modem config, people could, in theory, be paying for 10meg, while their modem is still only configured for 2megs without realizing it.

Just to add, my modem shows the config just fine at the moment, so no problems here.

As part of my job I may ask you to check the power levels within your modem so disallowing users access to the configuration pages will make diagnostics more difficult.

Re: modem config

Already have a fix for the us/ds speeds not being reported correctly on the Ambit 250, it should be rolled out shortly.

The other issue of the internal diagnostics page being unavailable should be fixed at the same time.

No, unfortunately this will only be for the 250's.

I'll chase up the 256 firmware in the morning!

Re: modem config

im on 20mb and my modem operation config page says the same thing:-

Network Access : Allowed
Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 0
Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 0
Maximum Upstream Channel Burst : 0
Maximum Number of CPEs : 1
Modem Capability : Concatenation Enabled, Fragametation Enabled, PHS Enabled

I'm not having any issues with my connection at all. A friend of mine has the same speed internet as me has the same operation config page says zero's.
